For Mrs Forbes of Grimsby, the prospect of redecorating her kitchen was an exciting one.
But, after the last bits of flooring were laid and the final cupboards installed, disaster struck.
During the delivery of new white goods, a new fridge/freezer ripped through Mrs Forbes’ brand-new linoleum flooring – she feared the money she had spent had gone to waste, and she would have even more to pay to get the flooring repaired.
Then one of Mrs Forbes’ family reminded her that she paid into a tenants’ content insurance scheme and that it may cover the cost.
“I didn’t really think about it and I am glad they reminded me,” said Mrs Forbes.
“At first, I didn’t think my insurance would cover something like that, but I thought I would give them a call just in case.
“They couldn’t have been more helpful – within a few days someone had come out to assess the damage and it was just over a week when the flooring was repaired.
“All this for just over a couple of pounds a week – it really is worth paying for, just for peace of mind.”
Having your contents insured gives you peace of mind and the security of knowing that should anything happen as a result of an uninsured event, you’re covered. Policy limits and exclusions apply. So, don't leave yourself at risk. We strongly recommend that you have insurance either through our Tenants’ Insurance scheme or by making alternative arrangements with another insurance provider.
