Lynda Bowen acting chair 12 April 2019 New acting chair

LHP is pleased to announce that the current vice-chair of our Board, Lynda Bowen, has agreed to step-up to acting chair as the resignation of Stephen Savage is announced.

This move will give the organisation time to advertise and fill the vacancy permanently, which we hope to have completed by the summer.

A highly experienced professional, Lynda has an extensive background in adult social care having worked in senior roles at both Hull City and Leeds City councils. Since launching her own consultancy business in 2011, Lynda has delivered regional projects within the housing, social care and health arena.

Stephen Savage has spent four years at the helm and during that time LHP has seen major change, with the Board helping to guide the merger. He feels now is the right time to step down.

Chief Executive, Murray Macdonald, said: “Over the last four years Stephen and the Board, previously Shoreline and now LHP, has overseen major change, which has included the start of the East Marsh transformation, and of course the merger to form our present organisation.

“We all thank Stephen for helping to steer that change, and warmly welcome Lynda’s temporary appointment, which will allow us to undertake a full external recruitment and appoint a successor to join us on the next stage of our journey,” he added.

Thanking Murray for his appreciation, Stephen added: “LHP is now a year old with a newly reinvigorated executive leadership guided ably by Chief Executive Murray Macdonald and an experienced Board of Directors. I believe the time is now right for the organisation to elect a new Chair to take it forward and I wish it well.”
