Green-fingered LHP employees restored a hospital garden haven back to its tranquil ideal during an afternoon of planting and pruning.
Funded and supported by the area’s largest housing provider; patios were scrubbed, woodwork painted, hedges trimmed, planters cleared and bulbs and shrubs planted.
The garden space is used by patients at Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital as a relaxing oasis of calm during what can often be an extremely difficult time.
Kindly volunteering their time, employees swung into action for the day of activity.
LHP employees have also pledged to visit again in several months to construct a central wooden pagoda.
Employees have selected cancer wards at both Grimsby and Boston Hospitals as their Charity of the Year 2018/19.
LHP employee Ann Maggs MBE who helped organise the project said: “It was our pleasure to be able to help transform the garden.
“We hope to raise as much as we can over the next year for the hospital wards in both Boston and Grimsby and this is another way in which we can help support the valuable service they provide the local community.”
