There are five sections to this application: 1. About you 2. Supporting Statements 3. Key Questions 4. Diversity Monitoring (confidential) 5. Declarations.
You are able to save your application as you complete it - and return to it at a later stage if needed.
Applications at sifting and shortlisting stages are anonymous. Only sections two and three are provided to the Selection Panel. Once the Panel have determined who they wish to invite to interview, candidate identities will be revealed.
We will use the information you provide on this application form to check facts relevant to the role and will conduct these checks in a way that is fair to all candidates. For example, we will check if you are an LHP customer and meet the other eligibility requirements.
If you know any LHP Board members or employees personally (i.e. a relative or close friend) or have any other interests (for example you work for a company which works closely with LHP) please let us know in section five of this application form which will help us manage interests. You will not be removed from the selection process based on actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest. If you have significant interests which may need managing if you become a Committee member you will be given an opportunity to discuss this at interview.

Section 2: Supporting statements

In this section please tell us how your experience matches the criteria required to be effective in the role - by describing how you have acted in particular instances. We have guidance on our website which can help you in completing this section.
Using up to 350 words for each criteria - please give examples for each of the areas listed below.
Customer Focus - Ability to draw on the lived experience as a customer in our communities - to understand and articulate the needs, priorities and issues of all customers in LHP’s community and develop respectful, open and positive relationships with LHP’s customers.
Leadership - Ability to think strategically, be held accountable and hold others to account – contributing positively to setting LHP’s strategic direction and the identification of emerging external factors that may impact LHP in relation to the role of the Committee.
Independence - Ability to demonstrate impartiality, objectivity and integrity - with a focus on risk identification and mitigation and achieving long term strategic outcomes in relation to the role of the committee.
Analysis - Ability to analyse and interpret complex information and evidence - demonstrating intellectual flexibility and sound judgment in decision making.
Communication - Ability to listen, communicate, support, challenge and influence effectively - positively giving, receiving and acting on feedback, articulating clear reasoning - being able to work effectively within LHP and represent and promote LHP effectively with stakeholders - developing open and positive relationships that generate confidence and trust.
Teamwork - Ability to build supportive, collaborative relationships and work as a team - showing self-awareness and welcoming, valuing and showing regard to the differing views and advice of others, motivating and empowering others and inspiring trust and confidence.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - Demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and ability to understand and articulate discrimination and inclusion issues within the sector and a personal commitment to treating people fairly, honestly and with respect.
Corporate Governance - Ability to understand the role of a non-executive – how to contribute to effective corporate governance, decision making and corporate risk and performance management.
Housing Sector - Interest or awareness of the housing sector and of the social, economic and political environment.

Section 4: Diversity Monitoring

Please complete the diversity monitoring questions below. The information you provide will be treated as confidential and not seen by the selection panel at any stage. If you do not feel comfortable answering a question please use the prefer not to say option.
The data will be held securely and anonymised and aggregated to understand the diversity of applicants and how that compares to the populations of board members, employees and customers. This will enable us to understand and ensure that any future recruitment attracts applicants from under-represented groups.
