Together for Tomorrow: Community Event
This August, Sutcliffe Park in Nunsthorpe will become a hive of activity as we play host to our “Together for Tomorrow” event, a community action day held in collaboration with Humberside Police and local partners.
Designed to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour locally, the event takes place on Tuesday 12 August from 10am to 2pm.
There’s plenty to explore, no matter your age, from interactive stalls offering a range of support services, to engaging activities designed to raise awareness about critical issues within the area.
A key purpose of the day is to help encourage the reporting of antisocial behaviour (ASB), domestic abuse, and crime – including sensitive topics, such as child criminal exploitation and child sexual exploitation.
The event was inspired by Humberside Police’s ‘Clear, Hold, Build’ initiative, which has seen the force work hard to combat organised crime over the past 18 months. The ‘Build’ phase of the initiative now relies on organisations like LHP and our partners, to work together to build resilience and support within the community.
With the school holidays in full swing, we’ve planned the event to resemble a summer fair, featuring a range of stalls to visit, each with a focus on combatting crime and ASB locally.
As well as the educational focus, there’ll be plenty of fun too – including face painting, fairground games, a youth bus, football and more!
We hope to see you there in what’s shaping up to be a brilliant event for our Nunsthorpe community!
