Support for Customers Using Oil‑Fired Heating

We know some customers who use oil to heat their homes are seeing their costs rise suddenly, and we want to make sure you know what help is available. Heating‑oil prices have increased due to global supply pressures, and because oil isn’t covered by the energy price cap, these rises affect off‑grid homes straight away.

To support households most affected, the Government has introduced the Crisis & Resilience Fund (CRF). This fund will offer financial help to vulnerable and low‑income customers who rely on heating oil, with applications opening 1 April 2026 through local councils.

Our Tenancy Sustainment Team (TST) is also here to help anyone facing financial hardship, whether that’s with applying for the CRF, budgeting support, or wider cost‑of‑living advice.

You can also get free, independent advice from:

  • National Energy Action (NEA) – fuel‑poverty charity

Helpline: 0800 304 7159

  • LEAP – Local Energy Advice Partnership – free energy advice and small energy‑saving measures

Freephone: 0800 060 7567 (England & Wales)

If you’re struggling with heating costs or worried about running low on oil, please reach out — we’re here to support you.

Alongside this we would be happy to consider the full replacement of any oil heating systems with a highly efficient electrical system. If you would like to discuss this, please get in touch and ask to speak to a member of our Estate Team.
