Statement on home allocations

We’ve seen some social media posts circulating online around Lincolnshire Housing Partnership and the Ferriby Fields development site in Grimsby.

We wanted to clear a few things up. LHP does not have any plans to acquire homes on this site. Any claim that we do is false.

We also want to be clear on how people get to live in an LHP home when they do become available.

Our homes in the North East Lincolnshire / Grimsby area are allocated through Home Choice Lincs, which is run by a partnership of social housing providers across North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

Home Choice Lincs works with housing providers across the region to manage social housing applications and assess housing needs. The service’s housing allocations policy is clear that only people with a local connection to the area qualify to apply for a home.

Where LHP does acquire or manage homes within developments across the region, these homes are allocated in line with established eligibility and nominations processes. This applies to both social rent and shared ownership homes, with allocations based on housing need and qualifying criteria, not nationality or immigration status. In respect of homes within North East Lincolnshire, these homes would be allocated through Home Choice Lincs.
