Head of Housing

Deborah has had a long and varied housing career starting with Boston Borough Council in 1998 before becoming a housing officer for Boston Mayflower.

Within her career she has been responsible for lettings and the floating support team who provide assistance to vulnerable customers as well as introduce a choice based lettings system.

Instrumental in gaining support contracts in the East Riding of Yorkshire for ex-offenders and those with substance misuse; Deborah has also gained contracts to provide accommodation-based services for homeless people in Boston setting up a Homeless Hostel, a Young Persons’ Hostel in Bridlington and a Young Persons’ floating support service throughout the East Riding.

In 2012, Deborah successfully gained a contract to provide a Domestic Abuse Refuge and then in 2013 an outreach contract to support Women and Men suffering from Domestic Abuse in Boston and South Holland.

Deborah spent several years as the Head of Independent Living, responsible for the Housing Options Team, Telecare Team, the 24/7 monitoring centre, Sheltered Housing Team and Outreach Support Teams and hostels before spending the last three years as Head of Customer Services dealing with tenancy management, customer engagement, housing crime prevention and the customer service centre.

Deborah has successfully achieved the Higher National Certificate in Housing and the Diploma in Housing Professional Studies as well as full membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing in 2007.

In her spare time, Deborah enjoys any sort of craft from card making to cross stitch. Along with her husband, Deborah is also attempting to visit every horse racing track in England, Wales and Scotland with only ten of 60 left to visit.
